Eastern Aroostook RSU 39 Names Jane McCall as Interim Superintendent
The Eastern Aroostook RSU 39 Board of Education is pleased to announce that Jane McCall has been selected to lead and oversee education for RSU 39’s schools as the interim Superintendent of Schools. The Board of Education voted in favor of hiring Ms. McCall at its public meeting held on April 10, 2023, at the Caribou High School. 

McCall is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the Eastern Aroostook RSU 39 (Caribou and Stockholm) and Superintendent of Schools for MSAD 24 (Van Buren) school systems. During her years as Assistant Superintendent she has also worked for MSAD 20 as a Curriculum Coordinator and Special Education Director.

McCall began her educational career in the Fort Fairfield School Department. During her seven years in MSAD 20 as a teacher she taught first grade and then fifth grade. In 2001 she was hired as an assistant principal for RSU 39 for one year then from 2002-2016 she was Principal of Hilltop Elementary School. In 2009 she was awarded the honor of Maine National Distinguished Principal of the Year. She has been in her current role in Caribou as Assistant Superintendent for RSU 39 for seven years. 

She has served on local community Boards for Pines Health for twelve years and is currently a member of the Cary Medical Board of Directors. 

As RSU 39 transitions through the next few months with the departure of Superintendent Doak, additional details will be brought forward on the work involved in the transitioning for RSU 39 central office staff and our schools.
